πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ #EasterMarch2026 in Strausberg: Peace instead of Rearmament

On Easter Saturday, 4 April 2026, around 150 peace activists gathered at Strausberg Stadt S-Bahn station. The #EasterMarch moved through Große Straße – a clear signal against NATO's military escalation and in favour of diplomatic solutions.

The Easter March's Core Demands

  • Peace for Iran, Palestine and Lebanon – Stop the bombardments and arms deliveries
  • De-escalation in the Ukraine war – No ceasefire as a breathing space for rearmament, but a genuine diplomatic process
  • No US missiles in Germany – Stop the stationing of medium-range missiles
  • Withdrawal of all nuclear weapons from Europe
  • Cut military spending, strengthen social security

Creative Protest: The Merz Cardboard Figure

In the foreground of the photo you can see a demonstrator with a larger-than-life cardboard figure of Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The inscription "Frederick the Great ... Liar" alludes to the breaking of an election promise – Merz had indicated a different foreign policy during the election campaign, but is now focusing on massive rearmament and arms deliveries.

Further Impressions

This gallery contains more photos and video transcripts of the speeches – including contributions from representatives of Die Linke, BSW, Friedensoffensive MOL, Rotfuchs, as well as a private individual and a pastor of the Protestant Church.
