🇬🇧 #EasterMarch2026: Doris Schülke (Friedensoffensive MOL) on Gaza and German Arms Policy

Doris Schülke of the Friedensoffensive Märkisch-Oderland spoke plainly at the Easter March in Strausberg about the situation in Gaza and the role of the federal government. The original sound is accompanied in the video by German and English subtitles.

Extracts from the Speech

"I am burning to speak. It is difficult to say exactly the right thing in five minutes and to take care not to be pushed into the anti-Semitic corner. The federal government is all too happy to do that, because they do not want to hear criticism of the inhumane actions of the far-right Netanyahu government towards the Palestinian people."

She listed the crimes: "Condemnation of humiliation, expulsion, apartheid and, since 7 October, the condemnable hostage-taking, the carpet bombing in Gaza. Pulverisation of an entire region. Tens of thousands dead, women, children, aid workers, journalists."

Schülke reported on the targeted killing of a three-person Arab television team last week and the attacks on UN personnel. She recalled the terror of radical Israeli settlers in the Jordan Valley and the famine in Gaza clearly identified by the UN.

She referred to the work of UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese: "A courageous woman. Naturally, the federal government does not want to hear any of it. After all, it continues to stand firmly by the side of the Israeli government. Practises reason of state in Rhine culture. Delivers military equipment. Discredits critics as anti-Semites."

Schülke called on Federal Chancellor Merz and Foreign Minister Wadepool: "Finally take responsibility. Finally speak plainly. Summon the Israeli ambassador. Immediate stop to all deliveries of military goods. Immediate stop to military and intelligence cooperation with Israel."

She concluded with the demand for a just two-state solution and condemnation of the Israeli attacks on Lebanon: "There lies the next humanitarian catastrophe."
